Together Encountering Christ, formerly known as Teens Encounter Christ, is a volunteer-led, Catholic-based organization in the Diocese of Green Bay.  The TEC experience begins with a dynamic retreat weekend and evolves into an intergenerational community of faith.

A Board of Directors leads TEC, and members of the TEC community lead TEC retreats. using curriculum developed by the National TEC Conference.

High school juniors, seniors, and adults. TEC is designed for teens and young adults who want to deepen their faith; it should not be used as a required Confirmation retreat.

St. Joseph School, 1224 12th Ave., Green Bay. Formerly operating as a Catholic school, St. Joseph School is now a retreat center and meeting venue. The building houses a chapel, meeting rooms, game room, kitchen, cafeteria, bathrooms with showers, and classrooms used for sleeping and meetings.

Retreats begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday and end at 5 p.m. Sunday. Two to three retreats are scheduled every year.

$60 per person includes meals, snacks, and materials. Scholarship money is available.

Group sleeping arrangements on cots or air mattresses in the Catholic school classrooms. 

TEC is authentically Catholic and includes sacramental opportunities like the Mass, Reconciliation, and Eucharistic Adoration. Catholicism isn’t a prerequisite, but being Catholic allows retreatants to more fully participate in the retreat experience.

You can support Anchor of Hope TEC three ways:

  1. Invite juniors, seniors, and young adults to register for a retreat
  2. Donate to TEC. In order to make retreats affordable, TEC relies on private and corporate donations. Anchor of Hope TEC, Green Bay, is a volunteer-led, 501c3 Catholic-based organization.
  3. Volunteer to work a retreat to experience TEC from a new perspective. Each TEC retreat requires 20-25 volunteers.
